Windows 10 New Update Feature That Nobody Knows
Windows 10 renames virtual desktops
Here’s a small feature that you can appreciate: you can now rename the virtual desktops you create from the Win + Tab menu . Instead of a simple desktop 1 , desktop 2, and so on, you can quickly identify them.
Just click on the name to change it. Calling them up according to their purpose (like Entertainment or Work ) should come in handy.

If you want to track your PC’s performance, you will appreciate a small update to the Game Bar feature. Press Win + G or press the Xbox button on your controller to open the game bar during gameplay and you will now see the FPS counter in the Performance window .
If you don’t see this window, make sure you haven’t hidden it using the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen when you open the game panel. And go to Settings> Game> Xbox Game Bar to turn it on if the keyboard shortcut isn’t working at all.
May 2019 update
Here are the main features of Windows 10, version 1903.
Sandbox for test software
Most of the changes in the May 2019 Update are changes and refinements to existing features. One of the few new tools is Windows Sandbox. It is only available for Windows 10 Pro and later and allows you to run your software in a safe environment.
Enable Windows 10 Sandbox
To enable it, you need to make sure that virtualization features are enabled on your system. To check this, open the Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc . Select More details if you only see a small list of apps here, then switch to the Performance tab .
In the CPU section, you will see a virtualization box on the right side. If it doesn’t mean “ Enabled,” you will need to follow our guide to enable virtualization on your PC .
Then enter Windows features in the Start menu and open the Turn Windows features on or off link . In the list that appears, find Windows Sandbox , select it and click OK . You will see a new dialog box that installs some necessary files and then you are asked to restart your computer to complete the installation.
Enable Windows Sandbox
Finally, you can now search for Windows Sandbox from the Start Menu. Open it and confirm administrator rights, and after a few seconds, you will see a blank Windows 10 desktop.

From there, you have an isolated environment where you can test any software you want. It doesn’t support drag and drop, but you can just copy and paste any installers or other files you want to run in the sandbox. Use it to test software that you don’t trust on your main system.
When done, close the sandbox just like any other application. Note that this will completely destroy everything inside, so you will have a new crate the next time you start.
In particular, the sandbox offers a constantly updated environment. It is much easier than a virtual machine, which requires regular updates.
Windows 10 May 2019 Windows Update
Although Microsoft releases new versions of Windows 10 approximately every six months, it still supports older versions for 18 months after their release. For example, the October 2018 Windows 10 Update was released in November 2018 and will continue to receive support until May 2020.
Thanks to the changes made in version 1903, it is now easier to stay on the previous version if you wish. Instead of forcing you to install these important updates shortly after they launch, you can now do so. If you want to use an older version, you will only need to update after the end of the 18-month support period.
For people who prioritize stability and don’t care about the latest features, this is a welcome option. In addition, Windows 10 Home Edition now allows you to suspend Windows Update for several weeks. In the past, this required the Pro version.
Enter the bright side
Windows 10 color mode
There has been a lot of hype lately about dark themes that are already included in Windows 10. But if you prefer the opposite, you’ll be happy to discover the new light theme in Windows 10. This sets up a lot of display elements to use a lighter tone.
To turn it on, go to Settings> Personalization> Colors . In the ” Choose a color” section , you can choose a new light , dark or custom theme. If you choose Custom , you can set separate options for Windows Mode and Application Mode. This lets you set Windows elements to dark while leaving applications in light mode, or vice versa.
Split Search and Cortana
Windows 10 search taskbar
For a long time, Windows 10 has combined Cortana search and desktop search. This meant that when you opened the search bar, you saw Cortana and its list of features. It’s a little frustrating if you don’t care about Cortana or prefer to use both functions separately.
You can now do this. Windows 10 has separate icons for Cortana and taskbar search. To change how they are displayed, right-click an empty space on the taskbar and select Show Cortana Button to activate it. And in Search, you can select Hidden , Show Search Icon, or Show Search Box .
The search bar now only searches for files on your computer and Internet search results. You can use the tabs above to filter by the type of data you want to find. As a result, Cortana is now sent on a voice search.
Combined with disabling all Cortana options in Settings> Cortana> Talk to Cortana, you can hide it from view without any registry hacks.
